Representation From An Entertainment Industry Insider
When I graduated from high school, I had no intention of being a lawyer; I was going to be a rock star. I got a really good start down that path playing keyboards and publishing music, but then I got sidetracked by my interest in the law. As a part of the entertainment industry, I saw many careers derailed by unfair contracts, poor business decisions and outright fraud. One of my goals when I entered law school was to represent creative professionals to help level the playing field. While I still play around town on occasion, my main vocation is working as a lawyer.
Offering A Full Range Of Services To Creative Professionals
When it comes to contracts and agreements, creative professionals are typically independent contractors with very little leverage when negotiating. They are also usually at a distinct disadvantage when trying to negotiate against experienced and highly paid industry attorneys. That’s where I come in. My job is to protect your rights and make sure you get a fair deal. The practice areas and services that I provide include:
- General counsel and advice
- Proactive compliance
- Contract drafting and review
- Contract negotiations
- Transactional work
- Fraud litigation
- Breach of contract
I work with professionals from the movie, television and music industries. My practice also includes work concerning copyrights, trademarks and publishing.
